| ~SOLD~ An excellent example of a troopers 1796 Heavy Cavalry Sword. the guard has been cut back to protect the uniform from rubbing which was quite a common practice The blade is marked crown over one, a government acceptance mark Also the blade has been taken down to a spear point blade in keeping with the order before Waterloo to remove the hatchet blades and convert them to spear points for greater damage The scabbard in good condition with it looks like a replaced throat This type of sword was made famous in Bernard Cornwell's 'Sharpes' novels |
