This is a good, rare and early, Unwin & Rodgers percussion knife pistol. Dates to around the 1850,s. They were granted a patent for rimfire cartridge guns in the late 1850's. So this pistol dates prior to then. The barrel bearing two hall marks and frame are of German silver with brass bolsters The side grips are of horn A large heavy steel hammer with nice strong action. It has a fold down trigger. The base of the butt has an opening cap trap, and there are two other compartments, one has a thin cleaning pick sadly the tweezers which would have been in the other is missing.
